MercatiGrano
Daily news, prices and forecasts for durum wheat, soft wheat and the other cereals that set the cost of Italian food.
What it does
MercatiGrano helps mills, pasta makers, traders, cooperatives and feed producers follow the grain market and decide when to buy and sell. Subscribers get prices from the Italian exchanges in Foggia, Bologna, Rome and beyond, international prices by country, futures and Commitment of Traders data, weekly market commentary and a monthly price forecast.
Under the hood
Behind the site runs a set of small data pipelines on Cloudflare. Every day they collect EU cereal prices, Argentine and US export data, EU trade flows and agricultural diesel prices, and feed them into the price archive and a forecasting model built on twenty years of data.
